| Farmer's Journal July 11 Thank you so much to everyone who came out to help with weeding today! It was a great surprise to come home to, and the fields look really good. July 7 Needless to say, it's HOT. Have to get as much work done as possible early in the morning. Hopefully this will help our summer crops flourish. June 27 Back to work after a wonderful weekend-long party. Picked the first raspberries for tomorrow's shares. June 21 Happy Summer! The weather couldn't be better. June 13 Over 2" of rain this weekend. Brings back nightmares from last July. June 11 AGHHH!! Deer are in the peppers. They even ate some of the Jalepenos. Must be deer from south of the border. June 9 Weeds are going crazy, right on time. June 6 Finally got some rain - only 1/20th", but it's better than nothing! May 29 With help from Jim Kempf, started the fencing for the new farm field. Three posts in, only 77 more to go... May 28 Peppers (sweet and hot) and melon seedlings are in the ground. Lettuce is growing like crazy. May 22 Heirloom tomatoes, early cukes, and early zucchini are in the ground. With warmer temps plants are popping. Lettuce is ready to go! May 19 Spooked a deer out from behind the greenhouse tonight. Time to get the deer alarms up. May 18 Planted 2000 sweet onion plants today. My hammies are gonna hurt tomorrow! May 16 Planted the flower garden today with the help of the Holsteins and Kuhns. May 12 Took apart the tractor today to work on the hydraulic pump. Hopefully I can get it back together. |
